Capabilities

Four primary services and three supporting capabilities. All grounded in current DoD doctrine and shaped by active federal range operations experience.

01

Surface Danger Zone Analysis

Doctrine: DA PAM 385-63 · AR 385-63 · MCO 3570.1C

Direct-fire and indirect-fire SDZ generation. Falconer produces SDZ geometry that survives the safety board, working from the same doctrinal foundations used by Army and Marine Corps range safety offices. We work with the weapons systems, ammunition data, terrain constraints, and operational requirements you actually have — not idealized worst-case caricatures that close ranges unnecessarily.

Whether you need a single-event SDZ for an unusual ammunition combination, a re-baselined SDZ for an existing range, or a comparative analysis to support a range modification proposal, Falconer delivers the geometry, the rationale, and the documentation chain to defend it.

02

Weapon Danger Zone Analysis

UAS specialty · Composite WDZ method

WDZ analysis for aviation-delivered ordnance — fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and unmanned aircraft systems. The bulk of our differentiation sits in this service line: Falconer's composite-footprint WDZ method for Group 1 UAS and loitering munitions integrates the operating envelope, the variable attack profile, the impact and fragmentation containment, and the failure-mode envelope into a single defensible boundary that range control can clear and de-conflict against.

This matters because most published WDZ guidance was written for fixed-wing aircraft with a known release profile. A loitering munition with a variable dive angle, a link-loss failure mode, and a GPS-denied operating environment doesn't fit that template — and the analytical gap is where range safety officers are exposed.

03

Range Safety Compliance & Inspection

Doctrine: AR 350-19 · TC 25-8 · MCO 3570.1C · service-specific

Pre-event certification reviews, range card audits, on-site inspection support, and corrective-action tracking. The compliance work that keeps your live-fire training defensible against IG, command safety officer, and post-incident review.

Falconer brings a working-level perspective to compliance — the kind that catches the small things (range card missing a current weapons systems annex, a target line not properly sited against the SDZ, a misplaced control measure) before they become the things that stop a training event or cost a career.

04

Range Operations Management Support

Embedded or surge support

Falconer provides embedded or surge support to range operations offices: scheduling, de-confliction, ITAMS integration, GIS data maintenance, and operations documentation. This is continuity for range offices that are short-handed during a transition, supporting a major exercise, or building out a new capability.

The principal is a current GS-09 Range Operations Specialist at Fort Eustis. The work we sell is the work we do.

SUPPORTING CAPABILITIES

Additional capabilities

Adjacent service lines where Falconer brings real depth, available on a task-order basis or as part of a broader engagement.

05 / RSO

RSO & DRSO Curriculum Development

Range Safety Officer and Deputy RSO certification curriculum tailored to your installation's weapon mix, doctrinal baseline, and operational tempo.

06 / INVEST

Range Incident & Accident Investigation

Third-party investigation support for range mishaps, near-misses, and SDZ violations. Independent technical analysis to support command-directed inquiries.

07 / PHY-SEC

Physical Security & Vulnerability Assessment

Range and training-area physical security assessments. Standoff analysis, access control review, ammunition storage compliance checks.
