About Falconer
A small, focused practice built around technical range safety engineering. Founded on current operational expertise — the kind that comes from still being on the line, not retired from it.
Bring current operational range expertise to federal customers who can't wait for the doctrine to catch up.
Falconer Operations Group exists because the gap between what's in the manual and what's actually being fielded keeps widening. Loitering munitions, Group 1 UAS, counter-UAS test work — these are happening on ranges today, while published guidance is still focused on direct-fire small arms and crewed-aircraft delivery. We help bridge that.

Seth Falconer is a US Marine Corps veteran, current GS-09 Range Operations Specialist at Fort Eustis, and the founder of Falconer Operations Group. His background combines five years of active-duty Marine service as a Close Quarters Battle (CQB) instructor and FAST member with eight years of federal civilian range operations work — a continuous, unbroken eleven-year span working live-fire ranges and training operations.
During his Marine Corps service (2018–2023, MOS 8154), Seth trained more than 40 partner-nation forces including deployments to Spain, building small-unit live-fire and CQB curricula. As a federal civilian since 2023, he has worked the safety, scheduling, and operational documentation side of installation range management — the unglamorous, doctrine-grounded work that keeps live-fire training running and defensible.
The current position is exactly the kind of dual-hat employment that makes Falconer's offering different. The principal isn't telling federal customers about range operations in the past tense. He's doing it now.

How we work
Doctrine first, opinion second.
Every analytical deliverable Falconer produces is traceable back to a doctrinal source — DA PAM 385-63, AR 350-19, MCO 3570.1C, service-specific orders. We don't trade in "in my experience" memos. If we say it, we cite it.
Be useful at the working level.
The deliverable has to land in a way a Range Safety Officer or range scheduler can actually use it. KML and shapefile outputs that import to the existing GIS environment. Memos that survive a safety board read. Range cards that don't require translation.
One throat to choke.
Falconer is small on purpose. Seth is the principal, the analyst, and the project manager. Customers don't get handed off between a salesperson and a delivery team — the person who scopes the work is the person who does it.
